Job Summary

Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion, while maintaining a safe, healthy, and fun environment as a positive role model. Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school regulations. Support program operations by managing attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities. This part-time role aligns with the Horace W. Porter School calendar, offering morning, afternoon, or combined shifts. Employer-paid childcare is available for enrolled children, and the position supports education majors, parents, and retirees seeking hands-on experience or community engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • at least 360 hours of documented, supervised experience in a family childcare home, childcare center, or group childcare home
  • at least one semester of student teaching with preschool-aged children
  • Current Center-Based Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
  • at least 1,080 hours of documented, supervised experience working directly with children in a legally operating childcare center serving children through preschool
  • Minimum of 12 credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • at least 1,080 hours of documented, supervised experience in a qualifying childcare center
  • Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB)
  • Demonstrates a warm, friendly, and positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism; dependable and punctual
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs., and actively engage in all activities required to safely supervise and keep up with children
  • Must be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs
  • Must follow the school calendar
  • Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB)
