Job Summary
Supervise and actively engage elementary-aged children in safe, age-appropriate activities including games, crafts, STEM projects, sports, and homework support. Plan and lead enriching experiences that foster learning, friendships, and confidence while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants through active supervision. Promote positive behavior, serve as a caring role model, and maintain attendance records and incident documentation. Communicate professionally with families and staff, keep program spaces clean and organized, and attend required trainings. Work Monday through Friday before or after school at Berkeley Heights YMCA, Summit YMCA, or elementary school sites in Berkeley Heights and New Providence.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, recreation, or similar setting
- Must complete all required NJCCIS training prior to working independently
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire
