Job Summary
Directly supervise the Before & After School Enrichment site, managing staffing, programming, and budgeting while ensuring full compliance with MSDE regulations and licensing requirements. Maintain stable, high-quality staff through the interview process, orientation, training, and performance reviews, while proactively monitoring qualification status and resolving disciplinary issues. Oversee fiscal operations by monitoring revenue and expenses against budgeted guidelines, managing enrollment and wait lists, and implementing marketing plans to boost participation. Deliver safe, nurturing programming that incorporates arts, STEM, and literacy, conducting site audits twice annually and maintaining open communication with school personnel and the parent board.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must hold a high school diploma or GED, or completed at least 2 college courses for credit
- Must have the following approved training and experience: 6 Semester hours or 90 clock hours of approved training, 45 hours of which must be in Child Development and 45 in Curriculum
- 400 hours of experience in a school age environment, OR 1 year caring for school age children in a registered family child care
- 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, or equivalent
- 3 hours of approved training in complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Within 6 months of date of hire complete a regulation training conducted by MSDE
- Must have demonstrated through previous experience superior ability to manage time, multi-task and organize his/her work, and train/supervise staff effectively
- Must have exceptional work ethic and strength of character
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) in an inside or outside environment for extended periods of time
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight
- Frequently using hands in repetitive motion, such as simple and firm grasping. Occasional fine manipulation of the hands is required
- Frequent flexing and rotation of the neck and head
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to see in the normal vision range with or without correction
- Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
- Occasionally need to crouch, squat, push, stoop and climb stairs
- Occasionally may need to provide physical restraint to a child
- May work in wet or humid conditions, outdoors with extreme cold or heat
- May have exposure to noises associated with children such as crying, talking and laughter
- Must have the ability to demonstrate understanding of program development and management
- Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of MSDE regulations

- Must follow the chain of command as it pertains to programmatic issues
- Must attend all required staff meetings and conduct regular staff meetings at the site
- Must perform administrative duties including but not limited to the following: paycom duties, accrual reports, incident/accident reports, licensing paperwork, curriculum plans, attendance sheets, sign in/out sheets and USDA food program documents
- Must work directly with Annual Campaign Team to insure annual site goals are met. This includes but is not limited to the recruitment of volunteers
- Must participate in and complete staff trainings as needed to enhance all aspects of program delivery and other trainings as directed
