Job Summary
Oversee School Age Child Care and Day Camp programs by evaluating offerings, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with OCFS licensing requirements. Recruit, train, and supervise staff while maintaining accurate participant records and tracking enrollment data. Direct daily operations across assigned locations, including conducting regular safety inspections and managing facility supplies. Build relationships with families, school partners, and community stakeholders to promote engagement and support program success. Participate in YMCA initiatives, committees, and fundraising activities to align with organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role
- Associate's degree in a childcare/development-related field or completion of at least 60 college credits with 18 credits in a related field
- Two (2) years of direct experience working with children under age 13, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity
- Meets New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) requirements for a School Age Child Care Director
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Sound judgment with the ability to problem-solve and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and all segments of the community
- Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, sit, reach with hands, grasp, stand, sit, hear, speak, have finger dexterity, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, push, pull and have visual acuity
- Remain alert at all times
- Flexible work schedule including evening/weekend hours
- Travel to various locations
