Job Summary
Conduct direct supervision of children before, after, and during summer school programs while ensuring compliance with MSDE regulations and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. Implement a variety of activities promoting arts, STEM, literacy, and social competence, and actively participate in all site operations. Build warm relationships with children and maintain open communication with parents regarding daily progress and behavior. Perform administrative duties including incident reports, attendance tracking, and USDA food program documentation while assisting the site director in promoting programs and hosting family events.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must complete 3-clock hour orientation training within 6 months of date of hire which includes proper child supervision, workplace professionalism, and interacting with parents
- Must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of MSDE regulations
- Must have the ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and reasoning ability
- Must have effective and efficient time management
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have interpersonal and coaching skills
- Must have organizational skills
- Must be able to exemplify a Y-Voice that demonstrates determination, genuine concern, welcoming attitude, hopefulness and a nurturing spirit
- Must understand ethical behavior and business practices
- Must ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
- Must maintain a work ethic that holds a high standard to organizational accountability
