School Age Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages infant through school-age, depending on location, and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities. Support social-emotional development, supervise children to ensure health and safety, and collaborate with staff to maintain enriched, age-appropriate learning environments. Build authentic, culturally responsive relationships with children, families, schools, and the community; provide excellent customer service and effective communication. Maintain safety guidelines, be punctual and present for regularly scheduled shifts, and support field trips and outdoor/indoor activities. The role is entry-level and involves working under supervision with duties including curriculum support, classroom management, documentation (lesson plans, portfolios, anecdotal notes), and participation in a professional team environment. Required Qualifications
- 6 postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with passing grades of C- or better OR Regional occupation program certificate of training in child care issues and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
- 6 months of experience in a group care environment where care/teaching was provided for a consistent age group is preferred
- Current adult and infant/child CPR & First Aid certification is preferred
