Job Summary
Provide direct social, emotional, and behavioral services to special education students through social skills groups, individual counseling, and crisis intervention as outlined in Individualized Education Programs. Conduct functional behavior assessments to facilitate eligibility determination and intervention planning. Collaborate with school psychologists, teachers, nurses, and parents to coordinate treatment plans and develop remedial strategies for anomalous behavior. Assist in creating IEP goals and therapeutic interventions for students with social/emotional disabilities. Maintain complete, up-to-date records in compliance with legal and administrative regulations. Available for clinical consultation with general and special education staff regarding student concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in social work, guidance or psychology
- Minimum of two years working experience with children under 18 in an educational, child guidance, mental health or clinical setting
- DESE license: School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor
