Job Summary
Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based frameworks like CBT, DBT, and ACT while managing student crises through risk assessments and district protocols. Adapt clinical supports to a community-based, hands-on setting that integrates the outdoors and local community as vital learning spaces alongside experiential activities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop IEPs, provide progress reports, and adjust interventions to meet regulatory standards for IDEA and Section 504. Maintain frequent, proactive communication with families to share strategies and connect them with community resources. This role supports the emotional, social, and behavioral well-being of students in a substantially separate therapeutic program focused on fostering resilience and self-direction.
Required Qualifications
- degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- Vermont state licensure as a School Counselor
- deep understanding of child/adolescent development
- deep understanding of trauma-informed practices
- deep understanding of mental health disorders
- ability to manage a high-needs caseload effectively
- high level of cultural competence
- three years of experience
- working within a substantially separate student therapeutic program
