Job Summary
Head Athletic Coach leading the Scholastic Bowl program; responsible for coaching student-athletes to develop skill, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Duties include organizing meetings for prospective club members, tailoring workouts to athletes’ strengths, creating and implementing schedules for individual and team development, coordinating facility scheduling, instructing players on rules and techniques, developing strategies, enforcing conduct standards, supervising athletes, tracking academic eligibility, encouraging high academic standards, handling injury procedures, maintaining communication with parents/guardians, complying with athletic program regulations, representing the club with media and community organizations, overseeing equipment maintenance, keeping records (eligibility forms, equipment inventory), and pursuing professional development. Requires ISBE teaching certificate or ASEP certification, IHSA concussion and PED tests, CPR/AED certification, and a valid driver’s license. This is a yearly stipend position with potential extension based on school needs and evaluation; compensation details outlined in the CBA.
