Scheduling Manager (CB)

Job Summary

Lead a team of scheduling professionals to develop, monitor, and track construction project schedules using Critical Path Method logic and Primavera P6. Conduct scheduling analysis to assess risks, impact of change, and time impact analysis for claims and fragnets. Present schedule logic and feasibility during pre-construction and construction periods while collaborating with project departments, VDC teams, and business development to prepare pursuit schedules. Maintain project dashboards, update baseline schedules based on project cadence, and challenge team progress against planned vs. as-built data. Participate in project kick-offs, Operations Review Meetings, and site progress walks to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement in scheduling operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Proficient use of Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Experience using scheduling comparison tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Change Inspector)
  • Large construction project experience (>$150m)
  • Experience in construction positions (e.g., Project Coordinator, Superintendent, or related)
  • Knowledgeable of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and Trade practices
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work to develop project schedule
  • Experience conducting gap analysis and managing scheduling risks
  • Knowledge of estimates to develop project schedules
  • Ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and supporting junior team members, including providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and fostering professional development
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, and able to quickly develop understanding of requirements
  • Process and analytical skills to make decisions
  • Display interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with project team members and stakeholders to acquire information and discern impact to schedule
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, able to present information clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills
  • Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Collaborative tools
  • Location: Edmonton, Alberta (initially), with role later shifting to a project site near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Desired Qualifications

  • Scheduling Certification (e.g., ACE, PSP, PMI SP), a plus
