Job Summary
Schedule surgeries and medical appointments while managing clinic policies, managed care contracts, and insurance utilization. Gather and report claim information, solve utilization problems, and perform fast, accurate data entry using Microsoft Office. Work 5-8 hour shifts from 8:30a to 5:00p with occasional overtime, maintaining strict attention to detail in a busy office environment. Partner with medical staff and external agencies to deliver exceptional patient care at Park City Surgery Center.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience scheduling surgeries or medical appointments
- Familiarity with medical terminology and scheduling practices
- Understanding of clinic policies, managed care contracts, and insurance utilization
- Knowledge of computer systems, programs, and spreadsheet applications
- Experience in a medical office as a scheduler
- Fast and accurate data entry
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work effectively with medical staff and external agencies
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
- Ability to deal courteously and professionally with internal and external customers
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Occasional evening or weekend work
- Occasional flexibility with hours of operation
