Scheduling Coordinator - Physician Practice

Job Summary
Obtain necessary information to maintain provider schedules and coordinate overall availability for office hours, in-patient, out-patient services, meetings, and time off. Monitor and update schedules throughout the day, distribute changes to affected parties, and anticipate patient inquiries to direct them appropriately. Update patient charts and electronic health records with pertinent information while attending contract, committee, and all-staff meetings. This role supports patient navigators, clinicians, hospital staff, referring physicians, and insurance carriers within the Lehigh Valley Health Network's strategic operations team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years Experience in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrate initiative
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely
- Computer skills and word processing proficiency
- Knowledge and working use of medical terminology
- Lift and carry 25 lbs
- frequent sitting/standing
- frequent keyboard use
- patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- 4 years Experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of physician practice scheduling software
