Job Summary
Communicate regularly with physicians, patients, and surgical areas to manage scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations for single or multiple tests and procedures. Provide accurate department and procedure-specific criteria to expedite patient preparation and arrival. Proactively listen to customers, offer alternatives, and resolve service issues while adhering to Orlando Health's Patient First Philosophy. Maintain daily schedule reviews, update staff on changes, and ensure compliance with all organizational policies and ICD/CPT coding standards. Support 2-3 providers with procedure scheduling using registration systems and multi-line telephone capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must complete Orlando Health medical terminology course within 90 days of hire
- One (1) year of retail, customer service or health care
- Computer experience required
- Knowledge of computer applications, multi-line telephone system, printers, copy fax machines, which may include required data entry
- Maintains basic understanding of the medical needs during the screening process for scheduling an appointment
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
- Adheres to all portions of the Orlando Health Professional Appearance Policy at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Exhibits working knowledge in the use of all registration, scheduling systems, and Web based resources
- Maintains a working knowledge of ICD-9 (ICD-10) and CPT codes, as deemed necessary
