Job Summary
Coordinate all scheduling needs and various interdisciplinary team appointments, including patient appointment scheduling, diagnostic testing coordination, and referral follow-ups. Manage the intake process, prepare clinical reports and correspondence, and maintain timely workflows for inpatient and outpatient services. Assist with scheduling software training, obtain insurance referrals, and manage appointments for patients without referrals. Maintain documentation in the electronic health record, type and mail reports, and triage telephone calls while ensuring patient confidentiality. Work with the Ambulatory manager team to maintain standard work tools and process improvement methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
- 2+ years experience working in a hospital/healthcare setting in patient registration/scheduling/financial environment or customer service industry
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Knowledge and understanding of dimensions of competency skills to plan, develop and implement education programs relating to EPIC
- Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
