Job Summary

Coordinate all scheduling needs and interdisciplinary team appointments, including patient appointment scheduling, diagnostic testing coordination, and referral management. Maintain timely workflows for inpatient and outpatient scheduling while obtaining insurance referrals and managing appointments for patients without them. Assist with training new users on scheduling software and support current users in developing skills. Maintain documentation in the electronic health record, type, fax, and mail correspondence, and triage telephone calls. Work with the Ambulatory manager team to maintain standard work tools and process improvement methodologies for continuity of patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
  • 2+ years experience working in a hospital/healthcare setting in patient registration/scheduling/financial environment or customer service industry

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Knowledge and understanding of dimensions of competency skills to plan, develop and implement education programs relating to EPIC
  • Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
