Job Summary
Evaluate purchase orders to create effective production schedules, establishing operation sequences and lead times to meet shipping dates. Estimate production time for each order by analyzing machine resources, materials, tooling, and historical performance. Make decisions on production priorities and expedites based on business needs, adjusting forecasted capacity and product mix. Manage material planning to ensure timely delivery, continuously adjusting schedules for raw material availability and demand fluctuations. Conduct capacity and labor analysis, recommend operational changes like overtime or staffing adjustments, and participate in daily Tiered Meetings. Generate monthly Key Performance Indicators, manage production order variance, and support Engineering for product and process changes. Assist in developing annual Long-Term Planning and department budgets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in Materials Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations within a manufacturing environment
- Must have a clear understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing planning and control systems
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering preferred
- APICS certification is preferred
- Lean application/implementation experience a plus
