Job Summary
Welcome patient families to Children's Medical Group for appointment scheduling following established modules and serve as the liaison between families and the clinic. Utilize EPIC scheduling applications and work queues to facilitate appointments, manage wait lists, handle reschedules, and process cancellations. Support registration of patients and legal guardians with MyChart accounts, secure release of information authorizations, and maintain HIPAA compliance. Enter registration information accurately, including demographics, consents, and insurance details, while adhering to organizational ethics and policies. Maintain proficiency with EPIC and other applications to meet quality metrics.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
- less than 1 year related work experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical menu software
- Knowledge of medical billing
- Knowledge of patient scheduling
- Knowledge of business office procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good concentration skills
- Flexibility to prioritize efforts to meet needs of patients, parents, physicians and other staff
- Ability to work independently with limited in-person oversight while meeting quality metrics and identified measures
- Ability to sit for extended period of time while performing duties
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
