Job Summary
Scheduler (103003) schedules all provider appointments, verifies patient demographics and insurance, communicates appointment details and directions, handles incoming inquiries, and enters data while adhering to safety policies and HIPAA guidelines. Requires medical office experience (1 year) or 3–6 months related experience/training, strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and solid skills in Excel/Word/Outlook, with superior customer service and English communication. This role supports patient care in a medical office setting and involves clerical duties, data entry, and coordination with clinical staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of work experience in a medical office
- or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
- Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills
- Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and teammate support needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
- Basic to intermediate computer operation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
