Job Summary
Seeking Scenic Artists/Fabricators to create high-quality scenic elements, sculptures, props, and set pieces. Candidates should possess strong skills in sculpting and painting, along with advanced woodworking and mold & casting expertise. Responsibilities include sculpting and fabricating detailed elements, collaborating with teams to ensure project accuracy and quality, and applying painting techniques for realistic finishes. The ideal candidate will have experience in themed fabrication environments and a solid understanding of using tools and equipment like CNC machines and paint booths.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in advanced woodworking and sculpting with materials like foam, resin, clay, and fiberglass.
- Skilled in scenic painting, finish coatings, mold making, and casting.
- Proficiency with advanced tools such as radial arm saws, CNC hot knives, band saws, vacuum formers, and paint booths.
- Knowledge of 3D printing and CNC machining operations.
- Proven experience in a themed fabrication shop, movie or theater workshop, or similar environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and concept art.
- Exceptional attention to detail and aesthetics, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and effective communication.
- Experience with project management software for tracking tasks and timelines.
