Scalehouse Operator - Part Time

Job Summary
Weigh in and out all trucks entering the landfill or transfer station, set up new trucks, and issue permits. Provide accurate billing information to customers and management, verify haul accuracy for third-party payment, and dispatch proper disposal instructions. Test scales daily for accuracy, ensure waste is disposed of in proper areas, and account for environmental compliance tasks. Maintain accurate grid reports and keep management apprised of community information. This part-time role includes Saturdays from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, one afternoon per week from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and coverage of holidays and vacations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, talk, and hear
- Close vision and distance vision
- Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles
- Noise level is moderate to loud
- Saturdays (7:00 am to 2:00 pm)
- One afternoon per week (1:00 pm to 5:00 pm)
- This position will also cover holidays and vacations
