Job Summary
Greet customers, verify and sort materials, and weigh incoming and outgoing scrap loads using scale systems. Create compliant transaction records, grade scrap quality, and direct vehicle and foot traffic safely on and off the scale. Process inspection tickets, assist with inventory control, monitor radiation detection systems, and report discrepancies to management. Maintain site safety procedures and industry regulations while communicating with yard staff regarding material flow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Willingness to learn and follow operational procedures
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation required - no exceptions
- Able to work weekends
- PPE required; work environment may include loud noise levels
