Job Summary
Scale Operator at CMC responsible for logging material data, assigning correct commodities and locations, coordinating with accounting/raw materials on scrap discrepancies, assisting dispatch with pre-loads, diverting scrap loads to rail scale, ensuring backhauls are unloaded and accounted for, and upholding CMC safety culture. Requires 1 year of operations/manufacturing experience, HS diploma or GED preferred, proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP a plus; experience with scrap grades beneficial. Tasks involve heavy manual work, rotating shifts, and exposure to industrial environments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in either an operations and/or manufacturing environment required
- Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint required
- SAP experience a plus
- Knowledge of different grades of scrap a plus
- Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
- Some overtime will be required
- Must be able to work rotating shifts which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to perform heavy manual work
- Push and pull up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs
