Job Summary
Inspect products for defects and damages, examine and direct incoming shipments to proper yard locations, and print PO paperwork and scale tickets for all material loaded. Direct customers to parking and retail counters, verify receipts upon exit, and verbally coordinate Yard Assistants via radio for vehicle loading. Maintain a clean, organized Scale House while ensuring safety practices, log daily shipments, and communicate with the retail counter for collection notes. Contribute ideas to optimize yard procedures and file paperwork for order processing. Operate equipment as needed using safety checklists. Rotational weekends required; full-time position with health benefits and 401(k) participation.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Basic computer skills required
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team, and across multiple departments
- Learn material within a successful timeline
- Rotational weekends required
- Fulltime. Mon-Sat (rotational weekend). Off Every Sunday.
Desired Qualifications
- 1-year prior experience in scale/yard environment preferred
- Prior forklift experience/certification a plus
