Job Summary
Temporary Scale Administrator responsible for overseeing yard scale operations, verifying material on the scale and type, entering codes in the computer, filing paperwork to support payments, performing hands-on duties at the scale to keep the yard organized, and assisting customers. The role involves use of a Fairbanks scale, a Zebra tag printer, copier, fax, calculator and computer; requires attention to safety, PPE usage, and the ability to move 5–75 lbs. regularly. Reports to the Facility Manager and supports records processing, material verification, and documentation submission for office reference.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Math aptitude
- ability to multi-task when handling customers and vendors in person/on the phone
- cash handling experience
- ability to develop effective working relationships with customers and vendors
- pass a background check, credit check and drug test
- general knowledge of difference between ferrous and non-ferrous material preferred
