Job Summary
SCADA Software Specialist – DER Systems at Rodan Energy leads design, configuration, development, and maintenance of Ignition-based SCADA systems for DER portfolios. Responsible for site onboarding, configuration, commissioning support, performing Ignition migrations and upgrades, developing SCADA screens and dashboards, and providing operational support and troubleshooting. Collaborates with DER Systems, Engineering, and Operations teams; contributes to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement of SCADA practices; participates in tiered support and on-call model. Requires ~2-3+ years SCADA experience, Ignition certification preferred, strong Python/Jython skills, experience with migrations/upgrades, and a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field. Role is permanent, full-time with hybrid work arrangement in Mississauga, Ontario; salary range $75k–$95k; criminal background check conducted; accommodations available upon request.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- ~ 2-3+ years hands-on experience in SCADA environments
- Strong experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (HMI development, configuration, scripting and support)
- Ignition knowledge and experience with SCADA migrations/upgrades
- Experience with Python and/or Jython
- Familiarity with SCADA telemetry standards and industrial communication protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot and support production systems in operational environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience in DER, energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments is an asset
