Job Summary
Design, implement, and support SCADA, PLC, HMI, and telemetry systems for municipal and industrial applications. Configure tags, alarms, and operator interfaces while troubleshooting control systems, field instrumentation, and communication networks. Deploy redundant VTScada cloud architectures and integrate platforms with PLCs and edge devices using protocols like Modbus, DNP3, and MQTT. Manage historical telemetry data and secure industrial network infrastructure including firewalls and VPNs. Lead automation projects, review specifications, and collaborate directly with customers on solution development and scoping. Work on-site in Wixom, MI, with 40% field travel and minimal overnight trips.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SCADA, PLC programming, industrial controls, or automation systems
- Experience with VTScada development and application configuration
- Familiar with SCADA server architecture, redundancy, failover, and cloud-hosted environments
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols including Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP and MQTT
- Understanding of network principles, VPN's, firewalls and remote access technologies
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial networks and communication systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, electrical schematics and control drawings
- Self-motivated with strong analytical, technical and computer skills
- Field work will be 40% of the position

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Unitronics PLC platform
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Automation Engineering or a related technical field
- Equivalent technical degree and relevant industry experience
