Job Summary
Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems and solutions for industrial applications while developing technical documentation including system architectures, drawings, and operating procedures. Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, HMIs, and other control platforms. Perform system upgrades, software updates, backups, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and cybersecurity. Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, networking, and communication issues related to SCADA systems. Ensure all systems comply with applicable industry standards, regulations, and engineering best practices. Provide technical support and training to end users and internal technical personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing
- 3–5 years of experience as a SCADA Engineer or in a similar industrial automation role
- Strong knowledge of SCADA platforms such as Iconics, Wonderware, Siemens, Ignition, or comparable systems
- Experience with PLCs, HMI systems, and industrial communication protocols, including Modbus and OPC
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, and VBA
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced setting
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in SCADA systems or related industrial automation technologies
- Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems
- Familiarity with data analytics, reporting, and visualization tools
