Job Summary
SCADA Controls Engineer responsible for the design, programming, integration, implementation, and commissioning of SCADA/BMS/BAS for data center and mission-critical facilities in Atlanta. Will lead automation design teams, mentor engineers, design and implement front-end SCADA platforms, develop SCADA configuration, networking and UI/UX standards, and lead testing with field technicians. Will develop project deliverables including scope, schedule, and budget; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders; ensure reliability, proper operation, and acceptance of new and modified installations, automations and software solutions. Requires experience with EPMS/BAS/BMS platforms, live operation environments, and strong scripting, database, and cybersecurity knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years SCADA installation, testing, integration, commissioning of BMS Infrastructure (Building Management Systems) experience
- Experience designing SCADA Platforms for complex data center/mission critical facilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar engineering degree a plus
- Ignition Gold Certification a Huge Plus
- Scripting in Ignition in Python modules - Vision, Perspective, Reporting, and Alarm Notification
- SQL databases for database management and queries
- Knowledge of networking concepts and config: TCP/IP, VLANs, LANs, VPNs and RSTP
- Experience working with BAS and SCADA protocols BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP
- Cybersecurity best practices for SCADA
- UI/UX concepts and standards
- Reviewing design drawings and equipment submittals
- Electrical code knowledge
- Client facing experience and ability to be primary point of contact
- Independent work capability; self-starter
- Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical)
- Project coordination, reporting, and documentation
- MS Office Suite proficiency
- NFPA70E and OSHA training eligibility
- Military/veteran backgrounds a plus
- Travel 20-40%
