Job Summary
Develop SCADA system architecture, point lists, HMI configurations, and communication network layouts for utility-scale renewable energy projects including Solar PV, BESS, Wind, and Microgrids. Support integration, testing, and validation of plant monitoring and control systems through factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, and energization activities. Troubleshoot SCADA, controls, communications, and system integration issues while providing field support for installation, testing, and operational readiness. Conduct periodic site visits to verify equipment, resolve issues, coordinate with clients, and review construction progress. Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and system documentation to ensure successful project delivery and closeout. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and contractors to meet client objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in SCADA, controls, automation, power systems, renewable energy, or related industries.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing assigned tasks independently.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites for testing, commissioning, and field support activities.
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to SCADA, PLC, HMI, or industrial control systems through coursework, internships, co-ops, or professional experience.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Wind, and Microgrids.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, startup, or field engineering activities.
- Understanding of power system operations, electrical infrastructure, and plant controls.
- Internship, co-op, research, or project experience related to energy, automation, controls, or electrical systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain certification.
