[SC] Director, UC Commercial Strategy Team_Lead

Job Summary

Lead the development and execution of commercial strategy for a designated Specialty Care therapeutic area portfolio in Japan, owning portfolio performance including P/L, Brand Plans, and Long Range Forecasts. Translate customer insights, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence into actionable strategies while identifying growth and launch opportunities. Direct a high-performing commercial organization integrating Brand Marketing, Health Solution Partners, and other capabilities to deliver sustainable business growth. Champion omnichannel marketing and data-driven customer engagement models through collaboration with Sales, Digital, and CoLab. Represent the therapeutic area in local, regional, and global business reviews and strategic decision-making forums. Ensure all commercial activities comply with MHLW Guidelines, industry codes, and Pfizer policies. Serve as a core member of the Specialty Care Japan Leadership Team, driving talent development, succession planning, and organizational culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • at least 5+ years of commercial leadership experience
  • at least 5+ years of brand marketing experience
  • Japanese: Native-level or professional-level communication skills
  • English: Strong business-level proficiency
  • Ability to independently conduct scientific and business discussions with physicians, KOLs, and other external healthcare stakeholders
  • Ability to actively participate in and lead business discussions with global, regional / ICO, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to represent Japan in regional and global forums
  • Ability to advocate for local business needs
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through clear, structured communication
  • Strong written communication skills in both Japanese and English
  • ability to understand complex business, scientific, policy, and compliance-related materials
  • ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
  • TOEIC score of 800 or above
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and organizational change
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated capability in talent development and succession planning
  • Excellence in communication, coaching, and executive presentation

  • Experience in launching and growing specialty products

  • Previous leadership responsibility for marketing, sales, HSP, or customer-facing organizations
