Job Summary
SBT Content Software Engineer II to join Guidewire’s Product Development and Operations (PDO) team in Canada, building scalable cloud-based software for P&C insurance content transformation with AI-assisted development. You’ll work in an agile, cross-functional team to design, implement, and optimize high-performance services (Java/Spring, REST/gRPC APIs, microservices) on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) using containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD, embrace AI tooling to accelerate coding while upholding code quality, testing, and security, and contribute to the embedding of GenAI across products. The role emphasizes collaboration, rapid learning, and effective communication in a dynamic environment, with opportunities for growth and impact on millions of insured customers.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS degree (Computer Science or related field)
- Minimum 2+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in Core Java and Spring framework
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python
- Experience building microservices on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience designing REST or gRPC based APIs
- Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
- Strong understanding of OO design principles
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle); NoSQL (MongoDB, CouchDB) a plus
- CI/CD and DevOps familiarity (TeamCity, Git workflows, Kubernetes)
- Experience with LLMs, LangChain, AI patterns (RAG, ReAct) a plus
- Exposure to AI/ML development patterns (prompt engineering)
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
