Job Summary
Review SBA and USDA guaranteed business loans to determine proper structure, assess borrower eligibility, and ensure terms meet all regulatory requirements. Serve as subject matter expert on SBA servicing procedures, advising sales, underwriting, and closing colleagues on complex loans up to $5 million. Interact with internal teams to facilitate understanding of credit requests, obtain eligibility information, and communicate decisions with reasoning. Prepare SBA Loan Authorizations, order SBA Numbers, and review franchise agreements, purchase agreements, and business plans to verify use of proceeds. Research and resolve complex servicing questions from the SBA and internally to maintain guaranty status. Advise Financial Recovery Group colleagues on liquidating and litigating SBA loans, submit final wrap-up reports, and ensure proper accounting and reporting of all loans. Assist with training new hires and support SBA ERO I and II job families.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of HNB SBA/USDA lending/due diligence experience
- minimum of 7 years of direct SBA/USDA lending/due diligence experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
- Knowledge of the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Ability to clearly document and communicate eligibility conditions to close in accordance with the SBA Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
- Demonstrates confidence, assertiveness, professionalism, and ability to interact with all levels within the organization in a professional manner
- Knowledge of SBA/USDA loan programs
- TSoft and SBA Etran experience
- Excellent PC skills to include Excel, Word, Outlook, AFS and Velocity
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
- Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to write in a concise, logical manner to clearly document transaction risks and mitigants
