Job Summary
Lead business development focused on SBA lending by soliciting and servicing clients for 7a and 504 loans through outbound calling, networking events, and referrals. Manage a portfolio of business relationships, conduct credit analysis, and structure proper loan terms based on business needs and growth plans. Source new accounts, interview prospects, and educate clients on underwriting guidelines and applicable regulations. Coordinate with attorneys and loan closers to ensure timely funding while balancing customer requests with bank risk management. Act as a mentor to junior lenders and adhere to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct, BSA/AML/OFAC regulations, and Fair Lending standards. Maintain a consistent development cadence including client retention calls and expanding a Center of Influence base.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 10+ years in business development and/or financial services experience
- Demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- PC Proficiency in Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Smartphone devices as well as Microsoft Office Suite software
- Complete understanding of all business credit facilities including, but not limited to: Structuring proper terms and product based on business need, useful life and business growth
- Basic understanding of business and personal financial statements and tax returns to identify credit worthiness and identifying risk potential
- Ability to identify short- and long-term credit facility needs based on business sales cycle, type of business, growth plans, and business strategy
- Able to balance business needs with customer requests while managing potential risk to the bank
- Adheres to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct
- Acts as a mentor to junior level SBA Lenders within Seacoast Bank
- Adheres to policy & procedure of Seacoast Bank and must comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and guidelines
- Accept loan applications and the collection all required applicant information while following Fair Lending performance standards and ensuring fair and equal treatment to all applicants
- Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with the Associate Code of Conduct and Sales Practices Policy, acting in the best interest of the applicant and their credit needs
- Proactively helps to resolve customer concerns in a timely, professional, and positive manner, escalating issues to the next level of authority as needed
Desired Qualifications
- College degree in a financial related discipline
- 5+ years of directly related SBA experience
