Job Summary
Operate basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, and web saws to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders. Review work orders to determine cuts, adjust saws for required cuts, and modify speed and feed rolls. Observe automatic feeding of lumber or push end pieces into feed rolls, then stack cut lumber after processing. Advise the supervisor of dull saw blades. This safety-sensitive role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a loud environment with moving mechanical parts. Candidates must complete pre-employment drug testing, including marijuana. Builders FirstSource offers medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and eight paid holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Must complete pre-employment drug testing process, which includes marijuana
