Job Summary
Operate a saw safely and efficiently with accurate cutting, overseeing the saw picker and catcher. Cut lumber per shop drawings and as directed by the shop supervisor, calibrating the machine before starting. Push material carts between workstations and maintain a clean, organized shop by blowing dust off machinery and lubricating equipment. Read tape measures and apply truss mathematics including angles to ensure precision. Communicate mechanical issues with operations or maintenance as needed while conforming to all safety requirements. Work overtime as required in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate saw safely and efficiently with accurate cutting
- Overseeing saw picker and catcher
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to understand truss mathematics including angles
- Comfortable using Blade and or Cyber Saw
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Knowledge of manufacturing specification and tolerances
- Work overtime as required
- Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations including communicating mechanical issues with operations and/or maintenance
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must frequently lift and move up to 70 pounds
- Must push 200 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Calibrate the saw (if applicable) before starting the workday
- Responsible for cleanliness and organization of work area, blowing the dust-off machinery and floor periodically, keeping saw machinery lubricated, and operating properly
