Job Summary
Review work orders to determine cuts for planks, timbers, or boards, then adjust saws including pop-up, miter, and web types for required cuts, speed, and feed rolls. Observe automatic lumber feeding or push end pieces into feed rolls, stack processed lumber, and advise supervisors of dull blades. Perform tasks while standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a loud environment with moving mechanical parts. Requires basic math skills, ability to read tape measures, and identification of lumber species and grade.
Required Qualifications
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Mathematical Skills - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to read at tape measure at 1/16 inch
- Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Other Skills and Abilities - Must be able to identify species, size, and grade of lumber
- Must be able to lift and /or move up to 10 pounds
