Job Summary
Quality Coordinator responsible for daily quality control checks across sawmill and planer mill stations, conducting packaging inspections to assess Gradex efficiency, monitoring grading and packaging to ensure correct sorting of wood products, and communicating quality status to management. Collaborates with Comact to optimize Gradex performance and with AFPA grading inspectors to ensure successful quality checks. Maintains the HT Manual with changes and monitors dry kiln schedules. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Wood Product Processing (or equivalent experience), at least 2 years in lumber processing, strong mechanical knowledge and attention to detail, and the ability to relocate or reside locally. Exposed to noise and dust with PPE required; physical tasks may include lifting and climbing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Wood Product Processing or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the lumber processing industry
- Sound mechanical knowledge and attention to detail
- Candidates must either live in the local community or be willing to relocate
