Job Summary
Sawmill Shift Supervisor responsible for leading a multi-trade crew in a production environment. Drive safety and efficiency across the sawmill, conduct daily inspections, coordinate repairs with the maintenance team, and implement reliability and cost-saving improvements. Investigate incidents, participate in major equipment overhauls and maintenance shutdowns, manage scheduling and timekeeping, and perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager. Requires strong communication, mechanical aptitude, and experience supervising manufacturing crews; location is Slave Lake, AB with rotating days/nights and Monday–Thursday shift pattern.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the lumber industry
- 3 years’ experience in sawmills
- Minimum of 5 years' of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- A mechanical aptitude; millwright experience is an asset
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
- Experience managing crews efficiently
