Job Summary
Sharpen, bench, level, tension, and align circular saws, band saws, and other cutting tools while inspecting for cracks, wear, and defects. Maintain proper tooth geometry, operate filing room equipment like grinders and welders, and monitor saw performance during production to adjust guides for optimal cut quality. Keep accurate records of maintenance and inventory, collaborate with millwrights to troubleshoot issues, and ensure the filing room remains clean and compliant with safety standards. Requires a high school diploma, one year of experience, and the ability to lift heavy tools and work from height. Schedule includes Monday through Friday with Saturdays as needed, rotating shifts from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical specifications
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical ability to lift heavy tools, stand for long periods, and work in a mill environment work from height as necessary
- Commitment to safety and quality
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of Experience Required
- Monday-Friday Saturdays as needed
- 5:00-3:00am
