Sawcut Operator - Lorton, VA

Job Summary
Operate sawcutting equipment to cut asphalt, concrete, and other paved surfaces for underground utility installation and restoration. Safely set up and break down work zones, including traffic control devices and barricades, while measuring, marking, and executing accurate cuts according to job specifications. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of sawcutting equipment and tools, and assist with debris removal, cleanup, and site restoration following operations. Work around live traffic, pedestrians, and active construction zones while maintaining situational awareness, and support other crew members with general labor tasks as needed. Follow all InfraSource safety policies, OSHA requirements, and DOT regulations while working cooperatively with crew members, supervisors, inspectors, and the public. Requires a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, current DOT Medical Card, and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Ability to pass pre‐employment drug screen and background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical capability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, crawl, climb, and perform repetitive tasks
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and traffic control procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Tankers endorsement
- Experience operating sawcutting equipment or similar construction machinery
Additional Requirements
- This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations
