Job Summary
Operate a large industrial Hydmech saw to cut steel to specified lengths, load/unload materials with a forklift or tow motor, maintain inventory records, and support daily warehouse and steel-processing operations. Verify measurements to within 1/16 inch, perform basic saw maintenance (blade checks, cleaning, fluid inspections), organize and stage materials, track completed cuts and stock levels, receive deliveries, document materials with tags, and communicate delays or shortages to management. Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements to ensure a safe, efficient shop floor.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating saws, band saws, or heavy cutting equipment required
- Hydmech saw experience preferred
- Forklift or tow motor experience required; certification is a plus
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and safely handle heavy steel materials
- Steel-toe shoes required
- Long pants (jeans or similar) required
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and steel-handling environment
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
