Job Summary
Measure and cut steel using vertical and horizontal band saws while reading cut lists and fabrication drawings. Organize, prepare, and stage materials for welders and fabricators by building complete material kits and anticipating production needs. Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts, properly rigging loads and determining center of gravity for balanced lifts. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while assisting with other fabrication processes as assigned. Required Qualifications
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16"
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to plan ahead and manage changing priorities
- Safety-focused approach to working with steel and industrial equipment
- Ability to safely operate an overhead crane
- Understanding of proper rigging, load balance, and center of gravity
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Dependable team player who can also work independently
- Successfully complete the pre-hire physical, drug screen and background check
- E-Verify eligibility to legally work in the United States
