Job Summary
The Saw / Fabrication role sets up and operates saws and related metal fabrication equipment per blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure parts meet engineering specs for quality, fit, form, and function. Responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, determining machine setup and production sequence, handling materials in the saw area, coordinating workflow with leads and supervisors, using inspection tools to verify dimensions, performing daily quality checks and general maintenance on equipment, documenting material movement, and maintaining a safe, organized work area. The role requires collaboration with team members, adherence to safety programs, and willingness to work overtime/weekend as production demands; requires high school diploma or equivalent and ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand 8–10 hours per day.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand and perform physical work for 8–10 hours per day, up to 5 days per week
- Ability to use manual and hand-powered tools, including measuring tools
- Ability to operate hand jacks, pallet trucks, cranes, jib cranes, and hoists
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, follow calibration steps, and read and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions
- Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to move throughout the facility unassisted
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse work environment with all levels of employees
- Demonstrated positive attitude, strong work ethic, dependability, flexibility, and punctuality
- Willingness to work approved overtime and weekend hours as required
- Preferred: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Preferred: Basic computer and software operation skills
- Preferred: Prior forklift or equipment operator experience
