Job Summary
SATCOM Systems Engineer needed to deliver satellite communications networks for a worldwide SATCOM facility network, translating real-world needs into technical specifications and developing enterprise-level system architectures and supporting documentation for development, fielding, sustainment, and operations. The role involves applying systems engineering to DoD-focused projects, mentoring, and contributing to a national security environment. Strong emphasis on requirements analysis, architecture assessment, integration, testing, fielding, and technology refresh within a government context and DoDAF/IP networking knowledge. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree and Secret clearance. The position may align with Booz Allen’s remote/hybrid/onsite work models as described in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with system engineering activities (requirements analysis, engineering, design, integration, sustainment, testing, and technology refresh)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Secret clearance
- Experience assessing SATCOM system architectures and hardware limitations, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, design, development, and implementation
- Experience planning and conducting technical projects (design and development, testing, fielding, sustainment)
- Experience developing systems engineering plans, identifying cost, schedule, and performance risks, and mitigation plans
- Experience coordinating and consolidating design efforts on major projects
- Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and SATCOM/IP network technologies
- Knowledge of wideband, narrowband, and protected military SATCOM
- DoDI 5000.02 acquisition life cycle and systems engineering requirements
- Interest in certifications such as INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, Security+, and CCNA (nice to have)
- Security: Secret clearance required
