Job Summary
The School Nurse provides licensed medical support and oversight for students and staff across assigned campuses, serving as the licensed professional of record and ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations. The role coordinates state-mandated screenings, medication administration, individualized health plans (IHPs), and health-related components of student IEPs/504 plans; supervises Health Clerks and other unlicensed personnel; maintains accurate and confidential health records; collaborates with principals, teachers, families, and community partners; and participates in professional development to maintain licensure and enhance knowledge. The position adheres to federal laws and district policies while supporting student health and wellness across the district.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing OR three (3) or more years of licensed, practical experience as an RN with school-aged children
- Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - School Nurse endorsement required or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Be licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Colorado
- Possess a current certificate for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- One year experience as a school nurse or 3 years experience as an RN
- Bilingual (preferred)
