SAP Software Engineer

Job Summary
SAP Software Engineer focused on SAP ABAP within HR Services tech. Analyze requirements and translate into technical solutions, develop/modify SAP ABAP components, test code, and collaborate with product, operations, and other IT teams. While SAP ABAP is preferred, candidates with strong programming fundamentals in other languages who can learn ABAP are considered. Responsibilities include translating business requirements into technical specs, coding and configuring SAP/ABAP components, writing and maintaining quality code, understanding APIs and integrations (including RESTful APIs), designing and executing test cases, providing clear status updates, documenting technical solutions, and ensuring compliance, security, and quality standards. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and foundational ABAP experience; knowledge of SAP ECC configuration, SAP technical environments, and general software engineering concepts is expected. Strong communication, collaboration with stakeholders, and ability to learn independently are valued. Nice-to-have: experience with SAP ABAP, SAP ECC 6.08, SAP S/4HANA, NetWeaver, Fiori, and related languages/tools; familiarity with Agile/Waterfall/CCPM; CI/CD tools; backend frameworks; HR systems experience; global/cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, MIS, or related technical field
- Foundational or hands-on experience with SAP ABAP programming
- Understanding of SAP ECC configuration principles or SAP technical environments
- Strong programming fundamentals and ability to develop code from technical requirements
- Understanding of software engineering concepts (classes/objects, parameters/inputs/outputs, loops, conditionals, error handling)
- Ability to read/modify/develop ABAP code
- Understanding of API concepts (RESTful APIs, request bodies/headers, authentication, responses)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with IT and business stakeholders
- Strong ownership, proactiveness, and ability to work with limited supervision
