Job Summary
Lead the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) in a greenfield environment for highly configurable manufacturing products (e.g., golf equipment and accessories). Translate existing product logic from Infor into scalable, rule-based AVC models. Define configurations using characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, and constraint-based dependencies; integrate AVC with Sales & Distribution (SD) for order configuration and Production Planning (PP) for BOM explosion and manufacturing; design and validate configurable materials (KMAT), Super BOMs and routings, and variant pricing logic; ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability; support testing cycles, data migration, and go-live readiness; provide guidance on best practices for AVC modeling and governance.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on Variant Configuration
- Proven hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC)
- Experience in greenfield S/4HANA implementations (must-have)
- Strong expertise in: Characteristics & classes; Configuration profiles; Constraints, procedures, preconditions; Deep understanding of: Configurable materials (KMAT); Super BOMs and dependency-driven BOM explosion; Experience integrating AVC with: SD (Sales) and PP (Manufacturing)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience migrating from Infor (or similar ERP) to SAP S/4HANA; Industry exposure such as Discrete manufacturing, Consumer goods with product customization; Experience with variant pricing and advanced dependency modeling
- Strong stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills
