SAP Finance Specialist (Digital Technology)

Job Summary
Review daily GPD Pegging, Distribution, and ZCMR error reports to investigate new issues and suggest corrective actions. Manage financial calendars in SAP, resolve transaction errors across Distribution, Purchase Orders, and Pegging, and respond to business inquiries regarding cost movements. Act as the single point of knowledge for Finance, Manufacturing, and SCM data flows, providing training to users and defining transaction procedures. Collaborate with IT Technical System Experts to prioritize defects, scope system changes, and support the release of updates while maintaining secure, stable IT platforms. Lead troubleshooting of business-related service issues and manage incidents, problems, and changes following documented processes.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing & implementing the SAP R/3 ERP system
- Holds recognised financial qualifications
- Experience in the analysis of GPD (Grouping, Pegging and Distribution) issues within the aerospace and defence industry
- Strong, demonstrable experience with SAP ERP/ MRP with emphasis on product cost management
- Demonstrated functional expertise with SAP R/3 FI/CO/PS and integration experience with SAP PP/MM/SD modules
- SAP experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment
- Understanding of IT Systems disciplines, including: requirements, management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis and quality management
- Ability to lead business centric requirements discussions, obtain consensus among stakeholders and support those through into technical designs through deployment and into operations
- Experience of providing high demand/mission critical systems on a 24x7 basis
- Knowledge of Service Management disciplines engagement, design, delivery and maintenance lifecycles in a high technology or IT services domain
- Demonstrable evidence of effective problem solving skills in complex support incidents
- Excellent relationship skills - the ability to build positive relationships with both business and technical personnel
- Experience of delivering high demand business services within technology services environments, in a complex matrix structure
- Strong communication skills in written and oral presentation material
- Ability to demonstrate effective collaboration capability within virtual teams and multi-party environments
- Experience of other key transactional and reporting systems and data warehousing
- Experience of working closely with other key functions such as Manufacturing and Supply Chain
- An appreciation of ITIL Functions & Processes
- Business leadership experience of teams and functions utilising complex ERP systems
- Knowledge and experience of project and service delivery disciplines including business analysis and requirements gathering, resource planning, ability to create project proposals
- Full project lifecycle experience, user support & training experience
- Preferably degree level education in a software engineering discipline although significant experience and track record with tertiary qualifications is acceptable
- UK Eyes Only and either currently holds or is eligible to obtain SC
- Desirable SC cleared or the ability to become SC cleared
