Job Summary
Design and manage the administration architecture of SAP Business Objects and BODS, including software installation, patching, and server backup management. Monitor authentication, authorization, and job scheduling while coordinating with NOC, Ops, and Infrastructure teams. Handle adhoc requests, incidents with SAP vendors, and critical support issues for BI development. Create new data store connections, manage job servers, and troubleshoot repository and network connectivity drops. Schedule Webi reports, migrate repositories, and optimize system performance using SAP best practices and OS-level troubleshooting. Maintain audit databases and support proof-of-concept engagements.
Required Qualifications
- SAP Business Objects (BOBJ) administration architecture design and management
- SAP Business Objects Software Installation for new builds
- SAP Business Objects Patching for upgrades (BO 4.2)
- Server and Backup management
- Reports and Universe Migrations
- Security Settings on Business Objects CMC
- Authentication, authorization, Job scheduling, publications, securities, and Single sign on management
- Co-coordination with NOC, Ops, Infrastructure, and Apps support teams
- Scheduling BO Webi reports
- Handling adhoc requests and service-related queries
- Incident management with SAP vendor
- Assisting BI DEV/Support teams in critical support issues
- Development and engagement in Proof of Concept (POC) projects
- Ability to debug Business Objects Suite tool-related issues
- Work on automation of server availability and schedules
- Maintenance of Audit & CMS database for Business Objects system statistics analysis
- Installation and support of add-on tools (Design Studio, Lumira, VBX extensions)
- OS-level troubleshooting of server-related issues
- BODS data store connection creation, installation, and upgrade
- Creation of Job Server and resolution of job server issues
- Creation of new Users and roles, and assigning roles to users
- Repository creation, configuration with job server, and migration from lower to higher versions
- Exposure on BODS migration projects
- Database Administration (DBA) activity including database creation and monitoring database growth
- Troubleshooting of network and server connection drops
- Improving load/system performance following SAP best practices at server level
- Good knowledge on OS commands for server troubleshooting
