Job Summary
Perform the eight steps of sanitation and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) to ensure a clean, sanitary plant for production. Wear appropriate PPE, work with chemicals, and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while maintaining food safety and quality for SRO products. Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers up to 50 pounds, and notify supervisors of any food safety issues. Work in hot, cold, wet, or dry environments while standing or walking for eight hours daily. This role requires reliable transportation, flexible scheduling including mandatory end-of-week deep cleaning, and a basic ability to read and write in English.
Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge on Food Safety and Quality
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a flexible schedule which includes availability to work overtime
- Mandatory presence for the end of week deep cleaning
- Must have a minimal ability to read and write in English
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to take direction from lead, supervisors, and managers
- Able to stay focused in a loud, fast paced working environment
- Employee must be able to lift hoses, equipment and chemical containers, etc.
- Able to learn how to clean and sanitize food production equipment and environment
- Must have a general understanding and complying with all food safety and safety policies and procedures
- Must have an understanding of how to work with necessary chemicals
- Must abide by company policies, creed, and values
- Must have satisfactory attendance
- Must have an understanding of related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, and dry environment
- Must be able to stand/walk on feet for at least 8 hours per day
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must wear appropriate personnel protective equipment (PPE)
- Must follow established GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) policies and procedures
- Must follow sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) including eight steps of sanitation
- Must follow all safety procedures
